I was lucky enough to wrap up my summer by spending 10 days at the Empowerment Center in Goshen, NY at Raquy Danziger's doumbek retreat. It is always an amazing time and this year was no exception. I was up for both sessions of the retreat with a few down days in between. It was all fantastic but the in between days were particularly blissful. I really love all the great folks that come up and I thoroughly enjoyed the privilege of being a teaching assistant. Round the clock entremanning in a beautiful location, Chef Rami cooking up some of the most amazing food I've ever eaten with ingredients taken largely from the organic farm on the grounds, a nightly fire, and a fantastic group of people; what else could I ask for? My special lady friend even made it up for a visit.
